Marijuana and Fertility: How Does Cannabis Impact Your Sperm, Eggs, and Chance of Pregnancy When TTC
Dr. Natalie Crawford, board-certified OBGYN and REI, discusses the impact of marijuana and getting pregnant and fertility outcomes. Cannabis use can impact sperm production and male hormones (testosterone), decrease ovarian reserve and ovulation, decrease the chance of live birth naturally and with IVF. Miscarriage rates are higher in women who use marijuana and pregnancy complications, including an increased chance of placental issues and neonatal death, are more prevalent in women who report positive marijuana exposure.
